Michelle Cottier

Michelle Cottier has been a Full Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Geneva since 2015 and has served as Director of the Centre for Legislative Studies, Techniques and Evaluation (CETEL) since 2019. Her areas of specialization include family law, comparative law, the sociology of law, and gender perspectives in law.
She currently co leads the research project “Family Law in Times of Crisis: Inequalities in Access to Digital Justice” (funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation within the framework of National Research Programme NRP 80, “Covid 19 and Society”). From 2018 to 2023, she also co led the project “Integrity, Autonomy and Participation in Child Protection” (funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation within the framework of NRP 76, “Welfare and Coercion”).
